Review - Nowhere But Here By Katie McGarry

Publication Date: 26th May 2015

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighbourhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Everything Katie McGarry writes I absolutely love so I knew Nowhere But Here would be no different and once again I was not disappointed!

Emily has been sheltered from her biological fathers life, he is part of  motorcycle gang, The Reign Of Terror a world completely unfamiliar to her. When a quick visit to Kentucky ends up being extended, she suddenly becomes the centre of the world she's been sheltered from and is fighting to save her life and her growing feelings for Oz, the guy who's trying to protect her.

Emily is a normal everyday teenage girl, she sticks to the rules and stays in her comfort zone. She's been led to believe her father didn't want her and chose the gang lifestyle over the family they could have been but this is a lie and the more time Emily spends with her father and the family she never knew the truth unravels. I love the relationship Emily and her father have and how it develops throughout the book, they are learning about each other and it is really interesting to see how the father/daughter relationship blossoms even though it is strained.

Olivia is also a favourite character of mine, so unique and interesting, she made me laugh and cry and I felt like she is someone I've always known. I think the moments Emily and Olivia share and touching and heartfelt and real.
I love a good slow building romance, so Oz and Emily's budding relationship was perfect for me. The banter they shared, the looks across the room, all so swoon worthy! Katie McGarry gives us another incredible couple that I will not forget easily.

Nowhere But Here is a fantastic start to what I know will be another incredible series. Katie McGarry is on my auto-buy list, I don't even need to know what the story will be about to know it will be another favourite of mine. Nowhere But Here has the romance, the rivalry and the mystery, reeling you in and keeping you hooked until the very last page. I can't wait for next instalment!
